Can I File Taxes This Year if I Didn’t Last Year

The countdown begins…10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year! It seems like just yesterday when we were ringing in the New Year. Then, once all of the festivities are over and all is quiet again, it’s time for…You guessed it — New Year’s Resolutions! We know and we get it! You promised yourself “This year I will be more responsible.” Or, you may have promised yourself , “I’m going to stop procrastinating this year. ” Still, others may resolve to build upon their families financial “nest egg.” Well dear friends, the biggest test of our resolve, this year, is upon us — tax season. We here, at OC Tax Relief, are rooting for you. We want this to be the year that you actually keep some of those New Year Resolutions. So, dear friends, as a display our our goodwill, we are going to gift you with our Quick Start Guide to IRS tax returns. First, you’ve already proved that you can be responsible, or you wouldn’t have sought out our expertise. Now, if you resolve not to procrastinate in following these three simple steps, before you know it, you will be well on your way to adding to that “nest egg” you’re trying to build. 

Step 1: Gather and organize all necessary documents; including W-2’s, (alternately 1099 forms) and any other statements you have detailing your earned income, as well as, chairitable giving statements detailing your tax deductible contributions. 

Step 2: Choose your filing status, i.e. married, married filing separately, single, head of household, or widower. Furthermore, you will need to have social security numbers for everyone listed on your return (including dependent children) 

Step 3: Sit Back and Relax, and then go hire a highly qualified tax assistance firm, such as OC Tax Relief, or another qualified company who understands tax rules and can help you sort through your information; prepare and submit a quality and complete return; and recieve any and all of the monies you are entitled to receive.
